Follow the trails of Tibet, one of the most remote, pristine, high-altitude regions in the world. Tibet's impressive scenery, complicated history and colourful monasteries will leave you mesmerised.
The best time to undertake this tour is between May and October. Access at other times of the year may be limited. You will reach altitudes of 4,500 metres.
Day 1: Lhasa After your arrival transfer take the day at leisure to acclimatise to high altitude (3,650m).
Day 2: Lhasa Visits today include: the Iconic Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Circuit.
Day 3: Lhasa > Gyantse Visit Gyantse, the 3rd largest town in Tibet, Yamdrok Lake, Gyantse Fortress, Palkhor Monastery and 15th century Kumbum (stupa) housing a multitude of iconic statues.
Day 4: Gyantse > Shigatse We drive to Shigatse, a 600 year old town. A highlight today is Tashilunpo Monastery.
Day 5: Shegar Travel the Tsoula Pass (4,500m) to see the Sakya Monastery.
Day 6: Shegar > Mt Everest Drive through the Himalayas with magnificent views of some of the world's highest peaks. Overnight Rongbuk Monastery.
Day 7: Mt Everest > Shigatse A stunning 8 hour drive through spectacular scenery.
Days 8 > 9: Shigatse > Lhasa Highlights over the next two days include: Chagpo Ri - series of over 5000 etchings, dating to 7th century AD, Drepung Monastery (home to 7,700 monks) and Sera Monastery.
Day 10: Depart Lhasa You will be transferred to Lhasa Airport.
