Mon 31 Aug: Sydney > Santiago Depart Sydney this morning and fly to Santiago. Transfer to our hotel.

Tue 01 Sep: Santiago > Guayaquil (B,L) This morning we will have a tour of historical Santiago and welcome lunch before flying late afternoon to Guayaquil.

Wed 02 Sep: Guayaquil > Galapagos Islands (B,L,D) Fly to Galapagos and transfer to our first class ship, the M/V Santa Cruz. This afternoon land at North Seymour Island and enjoy your introduction to the bird colonies there - especially the blue footed boobies and two species of frigate birds.

Thu 03 Sep: Galapagos Islands (B,L,D) Isabela Island this morning and a zodiac ride along the coast with great snorkelling for those interested. Later visit the newest island in the archipelago, Fernandina, boasting a unique environment with a very high density of marine iguanas, who share their space with sea lions, Sally light-foot crabs, hawks, penguins and the flightless cormorant.

Fri 04 Sep: Galapagos Islands (B,L,D) This morning explore the northwest of Isabela Island, a favourite haunt of pirates and buccaneers in earlier times. An easy hike to the crater rim for spectacular views and later, swimming or snorkelling. In the afternoon visit Urbina Bay to see the impressive land iguanas and swim with the flightless cormorants.

Sat 05 Sep: Galapagos Islands (B,L,D) This morning visit the Charles Darwin Research Stations giant tortoise breeding programme on Santa Cruz Island, and in the afternoon enjoy a choice of activities ranging from walks to mountain biking.

Sun 06 Sep: Galapagos Islands (B,L,D) Today visit famous Post Office Bay on Floreana Island. In the afternoon enjoy glass bottom boat or snorkelling excursions at Cormorant Point.

Mon 07 Sep: Galapagos Islands > Quito (B) Transfer to the airport on Baltra Island and fly to Quito. On arrival transfer to your hotel.

Tue 08 Sep: Quito (B) We explore this charming city - once the northern capital of the Incan Empire and a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Wed 09 Sep: Quito > Amazon Jungle (B,L,D) A short flight over the Andes and we are in the jungle of Amazonia. Transfer by river to the very comfortable Sacha Lodge.

Thu 10 - Fri 11 Sep: Amazon Jungle (B,L,D) During our time in the Amazon we will enjoy nature walks; take a twilight river excursion and marvel at the butterflies and wildlife. Highlights will include a treetop canopy walk, piranha fishing, sunset over the forest from a platform high up in a kapok tree and the superb naturalist guides who bring this incredible environment alive.

Sat 12 Sep: Amazon Jungle > Lima (B) Fly to Quito and from here connect onto Lima, arriving there late evening.

Sun 13 Sep: Lima (B) Enjoy extensive sightseeing of the historic city including the wonderful Larco Herrera Museum.

Mon 14 Sep: Lima > Sacred Valley of the Incas (B,L) A short flight to Cuzco and on arrival, transfer to a lower altitude in the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Tue 15 Sep: Sacred Valley of the Incas (B,L) Full day exploring this very picturesque valley visiting the Pisac market and the Inca fortress at Ollantaytambo

Wed 16 Sep: Sacred Valley > Machu Picchu (B,L,D) We travel by train to the incredible "Lost City of the Incas" and enjoy a guided visit and lunch at the ruins. Dinner and overnight at our hotel at the base of the mountain.

Thu 17 Sep: Machu Picchu > Cuzco (B) Time for an optional second visit to the ruins this morning before we return by train to Cuzco.

Fri 18 Sep: Cuzco (B) Morning tour of historic Cuzco and the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman.

Sat 19 Sep: Cuzco > Puno (B,L,D) Enjoy a luxury full day journey on a luxury train through constantly changing mountain scenery to Lake Titicaca.

Sun 20 Sep: Lake Titicaca Overnight Cruise (B,L,D) We cruise across Lake Titicaca on a comfortable catamaran with private facilities. Enjoy a fascinating visit to the Indians of Sun Island - birthplace of the Incas.

Mon 21 Sep: Lake Titicaca > La Paz (B,L) We continue across the lake then by road to La Paz, capital of Bolivia.

Tue 22 Sep: La Paz (B) Morning tour to the markets of this most "Indian" of South American capital cities including the mysterious Moon Valley.

Wed 23 Sep: La Paz > Buenos Aires (B) We fly to elegant Buenos Aires.

Thu 24 Sep: Buenos Aires (B,D) A tour of the "Paris of the Americas". This evening enjoy dinner and a special tango show.

Fri 25 Sep: Buenos Aires (B) Explore, shop or relax in this great city.

Sat 26 Sep: Buenos Aires > Iguazu Falls (B) Fly to the mighty Iguazu Falls and transfer to our hotel situated within the National Park close to the falls. Afternoon tour to the Devil's Throat.

Sun 27 Sep: Iguazu Falls (B) Day at leisure to wander the lovely trails and enjoy the falls.

Mon 28 Sep: Iguazu Falls > Rio de Janeiro (B) We visit the Brazilian side of the falls and an exotic bird park before an evening flight to Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to our hotel overlooking Copacabana Beach.

Tue 29 Sep: Rio de Janeiro (B) Today we will visit the historical centre of Old Rio then, onto the summit of Sugarloaf.

Wed 30 Sep: Rio de Janeiro (B,D) This morning we will visit the statue of Christ the Redeemer which towers over the city from the summit of Mt Corcovado and past Rio's famous beaches. This evening enjoy a special farewell dinner.

Thu 01 Oct: Rio de Janeiro > Sydney Afternoon flight to Santiago and connection to our flight to Sydney.

Sat 03 Oct: Arrive Sydney
